27 UNIKOM English Literature Students Participate in ICOBEST 2025: Elevating Academic Atmosphere Through an International Forum

Bandung, UNIKOM — A total of 27 students from the English Literature Study Program, Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Universitas Komputer Indonesia (UNIKOM), participated in the 8th International Conference on Business, Economics, Social Sciences, and Humanities (ICOBEST) 2025. This international conference was organized by UNIKOM on May 15, 2025, at the 17th Floor Auditorium, Smart Building UNIKOM, under the theme “Sustainable Progress Through Innovation and Inclusivity in the Digital Era.”

The participation of these students is part of the UNIKOM English Literature Study Program’s efforts to enhance the academic atmosphere and encourage students to be actively involved in international scientific forums. During the conference, students had the opportunity to present their research findings, engage in discussions with academics from various countries, and broaden their academic perspectives and networks.

ICOBEST 2025 featured several distinguished keynote speakers from renowned institutions, including:

• Prof. Kosjenka Dumančić (University of Zagreb, Kroasia)
• Dr. Thomas Hanson (University of Minnesota Duluth, AS)
• John Morrison, MBA, Ph.D. (Yorkville University, Kanada)
• Dr. Retno Purwani Sari, M.Hum. (Universitas Komputer Indonesia, Indonesia)
• Kristine Barlow-Stewart, AM, FHGSA, Ph.D., B.Sc. (University of Sydney, Australia)

The active participation of students in this conference aligns with various academic programs implemented by the UNIKOM English Literature Study Program, such as Extension Course Batch 2, which aims to stimulate students’ critical thinking through literary works. Additionally, student achievements at international competitions—such as winning 3rd place in the Essay Competition at the Padjadjaran English Competition 2024—demonstrate the program’s commitment to fostering global excellence among students.

By participating in ICOBEST 2025, UNIKOM English Literature students are expected to be further motivated to engage in international academic activities, broaden their horizons, and contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of language and literature.
