Bandung, May 17–18, 2025 — The English Literature Student Association (HIMA SAIS) successfully organized the 2025 Basic Leadership Training (LDK) with the theme “Forging Future Leaders: Strength in Unity” on May 17 and 18, 2025. This event is part of the HIMA SAIS LEGACY (Leadership, Growth, and Synergy) program series aimed at preparing the 2024 cohort as future leaders of the organization.
Held at Rumah Kayu Manis Punclut Bandung, the event was attended by approximately 55 participants, organizers, and executives. The event began on Saturday, May 17 at 8:30 AM and concluded on Sunday, May 18 at 10:00 AM. LDK 2025 featured three speakers who delivered inspiring presentations on diverse yet complementary topics.


The event began with an activity report from the Chair of the LDK 2025 Organizing Committee, Shanti Sulistiawati, followed by opening remarks and the official opening by the Chair of the English Literature Student Association (HIMA Sastra Inggris), Fariz Muhammad Rasyad. This was followed by presentations from the three speakers.
Shanti Sulistiawati, as the Chairperson of the LDK 2025 Organizing Committee, outlined the primary objective of the event. “This activity aims to prepare future leaders who will continue the journey of HIMA SAIS, which has already made significant progress. As we all know, there will inevitably be a transition from the current cabinet to the new one,” she stated.


Yudha Putra Pratama, an outstanding English Literature student from the class of 2022, was the first speaker, presenting a topic on outstanding students. He emphasized the importance of having achievement goals as a form of self-actualization and real contribution, both in academic and non-academic spheres.
The second session was led by Adriansyah Maulana Yusuf, Vice President of the English Literature Student Association, who presented on the topic of Professionalism. Adriansyah explained that professionalism is not only essential in the workplace but also critically important within student organizations. According to him, a professional attitude reflects responsibility, integrity, and commitment in fulfilling one’s duties and roles.
Fariz Muhammad Rasyad concluded the session with a presentation on Leadership. He discussed various leadership styles that can be applied within an organization and explained the rationale behind the democratic leadership style adopted by his cabinet.

In addition to the formal program, LDK 2025 also organized various informal activities to strengthen the bonds between generations. These activities included a variety of games prepared by the organizing committee. In the evening, a bonfire event was held, combined with a self-reflection session. During this session, participants were encouraged to reflect on the leadership development journey they had undergone, while also being given space to share their thoughts and aspirations. The entire series of activities concluded with the 2025 Leadership Graduation Ceremony, marking the end of the two-month leadership development process.
