Retno Purwani Sari, a senior lecturer of Program Studi Sastra Inggris, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Komputer Indonesia, Bandung, Indonesia, is gradually interested in research within Pragmastylistics covering social language functions. It brings her to the field of applied linguistic perspectives. Currently, she is working on a research project on how technology motivates attitude and behavior change concerning language style and preference, as well as translation strategies to find natural equivalence. Persuasive technology keeps her focus on the language functions. Performing her practitioner, she deals with language functions and how technology initiates language performance change.

Dr. Juanda, S.S., S.Pd., M.Pd.

Juanda has devoted himself to education for more than twenty-five years. After graduating with his doctorate in language education from Universitas Negeri Jakarta, he has consistently carried out language research focusing more on applied linguistics. Applied linguistics is his choice because this field implements more fields of science that are related to linguistics. Another principle is that it can involve scientific disciplines other than linguistics. He has written Subtitles as Language Learning Aids, Implicit Messages in Memes During the Covid-19 Pandemic, Dynamics of the Use of Various West Javanese Dialects, Behavior Restriction of Customs in Pasundan, Implementation of Characterization in the “Delikan” Model, Illocutionary Expressive in Meme of Covid-19, and Illocutionary Speech Act in Comic During the Covid-19 Pandemic. He is a lecturer at Program Studi Sastra Inggris, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Komputer Indonesia.

Asih Prihandini, S.S., M.Hum.

Asih Prihandini, a Program Studi Sastra Inggris senior lecturer, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Komputer Indonesia, has been researching second language acquisition (SLA). She is working on her dissertation on morphological awareness of a child’s English word formation in online game media, covering some aspects of Linguistics, such as the study of Phonology, Morphology, and Syntax. The intervention of digital media in developing the awareness of English word formation for children living in multilingual environments becomes her focus.

Dr. Nungki Heriyati, S.S., M.A.

Nungki Heriyati started her career as a lecturer in 2009 at the English Department. Her steady motivation in pursuing her expertise in English literature led her to gain a degree at Universitas Indonesia, focusing on women, narrative, trauma, and history. Her research’s interdisciplinary nature allowed her to view the issues from a wide range of perspectives and understand different philosophical thoughts. She has published numerous articles and disseminated her papers at international conferences.

Muhammad Rayhan Bustam is a passionate and enthusiastic lecturer with 12 years of teaching experience in the English Department, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Komputer Indonesia. His research interests focus on discourse, functional grammar, and related issues, including discourse analysis, media discourse, political discourse, and critical discourse analysis. Currently, he is developing his research on the relationship between discourse studies and the social semiotic theory of multimodal communication. Several publications he has done in some national journals and international seminar proceedings have focused on research topics around this multimodal discourse analysis. This scientific experience led him to serve on the editorial board of several language and linguistic journals in Indonesia.

Mia R. Yuwita, S.Hum., M.App.Ling.

Mia R. Yuwita is a lecturer at Program Studi Sastra Inggris, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Komputer Indonesia. She completed her studies at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, with a Master of Applied Linguistics. When she returned to Indonesia, she joined the Australia-Indonesia Youth Association as an Education Officer in 2019, a Communications Officer in 2020, and Vice President in 2021. She is now pursuing her interests in English as an International Language and Intercultural Communication as she believes that language and culture play a pivotal role in societal development in today’s globalized world.
