In a dedicated
effort to fulfill the higher education triad of community service, the English
Literature Study Program of UNIKOM conducted an educational outreach at SMA
Kartika XIX-2 Bandung on Thursday, May 21, 2026. During this Community Service
(PkM) initiative, the program facilitated an English Proficiency Test (EPT)—a
TOEFL-like assessment—tailored specifically for students in the school’s
English Club.
A total of 27
active members of the English Club participated enthusiastically in the test.
The agenda was thoughtfully designed as a diagnostic tool for these young
language enthusiasts, allowing them to map and measure their receptive and
analytical English skills—an essential asset as they prepare for their future
higher education journeys.
Beyond the
proficiency assessment, lecturers and students from UNIKOM’s English Literature
program hosted an engaging, interactive sharing session for the 27
participants. In this informal exchange, the high school students gained fresh
perspectives on the evolution of language studies in the modern era,
discovering how university-level English education now dynamically integrates
digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) as a learning co-pilot.
The school
management, through the coordinator of the SMA Kartika XIX-2 English Club,
expressed deep appreciation for the event. This synergy was highly praised for
providing a significant motivational boost to the club members, inspiring them
to pursue their passion for English within a broader academic landscape.
Conducted as part
of the PkM series for the Even Semester of the 2025-2026 Academic Year, the
English Literature Study Program of UNIKOM hopes to continually build inspiring
bridges with partner schools, nurturing young linguistic talents while
naturally offering a glimpse into an adaptive and visionary university
ecosystem.
